Pierces with cutter, slits throat using surgical blade; Ambili’s wife also accused in Deepu’s murder?

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police are not able to register the arrest of Ambili, even after 24 hours taking him into custody in the murder case of Deepu (45), a crusher owner of Malayinkeezhu Anappad Mulampally House. Ambili retracting statements in between are confusing the police.

Meanwhile, Rs 7.15 lakh were recovered from Ambili's house in Malayam out of the Rs 10 lakh that went missing from Deepu's car. The money was found in a search conducted by a special investigation team led by sub inspector Arulappan. Ambili first told police that he did not get any money from Deepu's car. However, after his wife was taken into police custody, it became clear that it was a lie. A search was conducted then. The police are hinting that Ambili's wife may also be included in the accused list for her involvement in hiding the money. The police indicated that Ambili's arrest will be recorded today.

Ambili testified to the police that Deepu had asked him to kill him because of the severe financial burden that came after the crusher was temporarily closed.
His statement is: Ambili reached Kaliyakkavilai Monday morning and found the place to commit the murder. After roaming around the area, waited for Deepu in Kaliyakkavilai at 8.30 pm. Deepu arrived and picked Ambili along in the car. After reaching near the Padanthalumood check post, parked the car on the roadside. Ambili was carrying chloroform, cutter and surgical blades.

Noticing an old man watching them, Deepu got out and opened the bonnet. He then got into the driving seat and fastened his seat belt. After giving Deepu, the chloroform that Ambili had in his hand, cut his neck with a cutter blade and in between the blade broke. (Part of it was found in the car). Ambili then got out of the car, sat in the back seat and slit Deepu’s throat again with the surgical blade.

After confirming death, Ambili went to the nearby medical shop and asked the staff his phone to call his wife. After calling, he asked the staff to delete her number. He asked for a lift and reached Kaliyakkavilai and then returned to Thiruvananthapuram by bus.

The police have not yet believed his whimsical story. It is believed that Ambili, an alcoholic having terminal illnesses including liver disease, is repeating the same lies thinking that he will not be beaten by the police.
