State Finance Department sanctions Rs 50.49 crore honorarium for Asha workers

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Department has issued an order to grant honorarium for the months of June, July and August to Asha workers in the state. 26125 people will get Rs 7000 per month. A total of Rs 50.49 crore was sanctioned.

Apart from the monthly honorarium of Rs 7000 provided by the state government, Asha workers also get incentives from various schemes. All Asha workers will get a fixed monthly incentive of Rs 2,000 each. Also, depending on the service rendered by each Asha worker, other incentives ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 are also available through various schemes. From April 2022, Asha workers are also being given a telephone allowance of Rs 200 per month. In order to get the incentive and honorarium of Asha workers accurately, the amount is paid into their accounts through Asha software.
