Police seize 2.5 kilos of MDMA from youth, major drug bust in Kerala

THRISSUR: In a major MDMA haul in Kerala, 2.5 kilograms of the drug was seized from a youth in Kerala. One person was arrested from Thrissur with the drug. Fazil, a native of Payyannur in Kannur was arrested by the city police and the anti-narcotics squad of the district police. It is also reported that 9000 MDMA pills were seized from him. Police also said that this is a major MDMA haul in Kerala.

The police had received secret information about drug trafficking in Thrissur. Fazil was arrested last night based on the information during a vehicle inspection at Ollur. He was coming to Thrissur by car from Ernakulam. Drugs were seized from his car and his house in Aluva. The police said that it weighs two and a half kilos.


Fazil is reported to be a wholesale dealer of MDMA. He brings large quantities from Goa to the state and sells them here. His house in Kannur is also being inspected.


Meantime, a native of Assam was caught in Thrissur with brown sugar brought for sale. The arrested is Asom (24), a resident of Laharighat. He was caught jointly by the Ollur Police and Thrissur City Police Commissioner's DANSAF team. The drug brought for sale for migrants in Kuttanellur was seized. 1.49 grams of brown sugar in small bottles and money obtained from the sale of drugs were seized. Ollur Principal sub inspector K C Baiju, Senior CPO Jayan, CPO Vineeth and DANSAF members caught the accused.
