'AI cameras will be replaced by people from now on', Transport Minister to introduce new app to report traffic violations

ganesh

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister K B Ganesh Kumar said that the inspections conducted by the police and MVD are going to be handed over to the people. He clarified this in an interview given to the media. Ganesh Kumar also informed that a new app will be launched soon, enabling people to send footage of violations to MVD. The people have well received the new announcement.

Minister's words:

Inspections conducted by the police and motor vehicle department officials are now going to be handed over to the people. A new system where you can report traffic violations yourself will be implemented in Kerala in a few weeks. Film the violation on your phone and send the video directly to the Department of Motor Vehicles via the new app. Officials will take action after checking whether there is any violation of the law.

Any mistake like parking a vehicle at no parking or parallel parking of two buses can be reported through the app. Make up your mind that you won't make a mistake and if the others do, you'll report it to the authorities. This can avoid many accidents.

The road safety department will soon buy the world's best machine to detect drug-impaired drivers. Suspects will be checked. Especially private bus drivers. This machine will even detect which drugs you have used. Don't expect any compromise in terms of punishment.
