Deep search metal detector to find Arjun; confirms that lorry has not passed accident site

rescue-operations

BENGALURU: The rescue operations for Arjun, a native of Kozhikode, who went missing along with his lorry in a landslide on the national highway in Shirur, has entered the seventh day. Uttara Kannada District Collector Lakshmi Priya said there is 99 percent no chance of Arjun's lorry to be on the ground. The vehicle is likely to be in the Gangavali river. Some unclear signals have been received and it is not sure what it is. The collector also said the footage of the accident site ten minutes before the landslide will be available today.

The CCTV examination revealed that Arjun's lorry entered the accident spot. It has also been confirmed that the lorry has not crossed the landslide area. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court listed the plea related to the rescue operations. The bench headed by Justice Vikramnath is considering the plea.

Scuba divers are searching the Gangavali river. The river is 25 feet deep. There is a strong current. The test is done in the mud puddle formed in the river. A deep search metal detector will arrive shortly for the search. With this, the army will first conduct a search on the land. It is also reported that the navy will provide more equipment for a search in the river. The army said the search in the river is difficult. The rains pose a challenge for the search operations. Kozhikode MP M K Raghavan said the search will continue until Arjun is found.
