MEPPADI: Kunhimuhammed, who relocated to his relative’s house from the landslide hit Chooralmala, died Friday morning. He developed uneasiness after visiting the landside hit Chooralamala yesterday. He was declared dead on reaching the hospital.
Kunhimuhammed was a jeep driver. He had health issues. He was in severe depression after the tragedy. The body will be handed over to his relatives after the post-mortem.
Meantime, an extensive search has started in Wayanad. The disaster area is divided into six. The search also includes people staying in relief camps and relatives' houses. They were sent to disaster areas along with security personnel.
Foul smell was emanating from underground in the search conducted at two places. A search is being conducted after removing the mud. It is suspected that there is a body in the place.
Disaster victims will not search the places directly. IG Sethuraman responded that the disaster victims will not engage in the search operations directly. Instead, he clarified that the places they point will be searched. The disaster area is divided into six. The chief minister had informed yesterday that the search will also be conducted including people staying in the relief camps and relatives' houses. The search is on its eleventh day. More than four hundred bodies have been found so far. Now there are 131 more people missing. Aerial search will continue in Chaliyar today.
