Disability not hindering friendship; Binu and Satyajith are brothers from different mothers

binu-and-satyajith

KOLLAM: The life of Binu (16), who was born with disabled legs, is now in the hands of Satyajith. Even though they have known each other only for a few years, it is a friendship of a lifetime. Binu and his friend Satyajith (16) are Plus Two humanities students of Karunagappally Boys' Higher Secondary School.

Satyajith is the one who brings Binu safely to school. Both of them met in 2020. Although they got admission to the same division in the 8th class of the same school, they were able to interact closely only when they reached the 10th class in 2022.

Due to COVID, 8th and 9th classes were completely online for them. Satyajith got Binu's number from the class group. They talked on the phone and became good friends. Their concern was whether they would get Plus One admission in the same school. As desired, both of them reached the same class.

From railway station to school

Both of them meet near Karunagappally railway station. Binu will reach here by electric wheelchair and Satyajith by bicycle from home. Then Satyajith will cycle by holding the handle of the wheelchair. This is a regular view. Satyajith is the one who takes Binu to his class on the first floor. Standard wheelchairs are used in the class. The electric wheelchair was obtained from the Zilla Panchayat. Binu was dropped to school by his mother or father till the 7th standard. He started going to school alone from class 10. Both said that their friendship will not change even if they don't get the chance to study together after high school.
