Friendship with young woman through matrimonial site, youth looses 1 crore rupees

fraud

GANDHINAGAR: A young man who connected with a young woman through a matrimonial site lost Rs 1 crore in a fraud case. Kuldeep Patel, a software engineer working at a private company in Gandhinagar, fell victim to the scam. Recently, Kuldeep filed a complaint with the cyber police.

In June, he met a young woman named Aditi on a matrimonial site. Aditi proposed an investment opportunity in Bano Coin claiming to have a business in America. Trusting Aditi, Kuldeep registered with Bano Coin and deposited his money.

Initially, Kuldeep invested Rs. 1 lakh and saw a profit of 78 cryptocurrencies in his crypto account. Encouraged by this, he made further investments. Between July 20 and August 31, Kuldeep invested approximately one crore rupees in 18 transactions.

On the 3rd of this month when Kuldeep attempted to withdraw three lakhs from his account he found it blocked. A customer care representative told him to deposit another 35 lakhs to reactivate the account. Realizing he had been deceived when Aditi did not respond, Kuldeep reported the incident to the police.

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
