THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Yesteryear actress Charmila came up with serious allegations against 28 people including famous directors, producers and actors for sexual misconduct on a film set. In one shocking revelation, Charmila said producer MP Mohanan and his friends tried to rape her at the film set of 'Arjunan Pillayum Anchu Makkalum’. Charmila said it was only for the timely intervention from her family members that such a scare was averted.
The actress also made allegations against veteran director Hariharan. She said director Hariharan had enquired with actor Vishnu whether I would subdue to sexual advances or not. With my ‘NO’ as an answer, director Hariharan took me out of his hit film ‘Parinayam’, told Charmila.
" It was at a hotel that Producer Mohanan and his friends tried to rape me. Even the hotel receptionist abetted with them in the crime. I said 'No' and ran away from the room. It was an autorickshaw driver who helped me escape. I managed to flee but it was not the case with poor junior artists." said Charmila.
The actress painted a horrible picture of Mollywood saying it was an unfriendly place to work for female artists. Charmila hesitated to reveal further names of top actors involved in many misdemeanours as she cited her apprehension about taking the case to court.
