
KOZHIKODE: Renowned voice artist, theatre and cultural activist, and presenter Thankayam Sasikumar has passed away at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. He was undergoing treatment following a hit-and-run accident last Monday night at Balussery Parambinmukal, where the scooter he was riding was struck by an unidentified vehicle.
Sasikumar was celebrated for his majestic voice and extraordinary acting style. A prominent figure in the cultural landscape of the Balussery and Ulliyeri regions, he received numerous accolades throughout his career, including the Khan Kavil Award for Best Voice Artist.
The son of the late C.P. Gopalan and Sharada, Sasikumar is survived by his wife, Shiney, and two children: Abhinand (a student at Sacred Heart College, Thevara) and Abhinaya (a student at Maharaja's College, Ernakulam)
The funeral will be held this evening at his residence premises in Parambinmukal.
