Kerala records 42,464 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, test positivity rate at 27.28; 63 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 42,464 COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Among these, 39,496 persons developed the disease through contact, including 2579 cases without an identified source of infection. 265 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 124 health workers contracted the disease on Thursday.

27,152 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 3,90,906 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 63 deaths due to the virus on Thursday with the toll rising to 5628.

1,55,632 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 27.28.

With the addition of 8 new regions, there are 723 hotspots in the state.
