THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Indian medical association has pleaded to the government that the second Pinarayi Vijayan government should emulate a model by conducting the oath taking ceremony in a virtual platform. Not taking enough precautions during the election period is one of the major causes for the second wave of the pandemic. IMA has said the new government which is coming to power with the huge mandate from the people and upholding scientific values must conduct the oath ceremony in a virtual platform which would be helpful to reduce crowding.

IMA lauded the government’s move to extend the lockdown further. The oath taking ceremony of the second Pinarayi government will be held on coming 20th. The public would not be allowed to participate in the ceremony owing to the covid protocol.

Only 800 people will be allowed to participate in the oath taking ceremony to be held in the central stadium. The order which will relax the covid protocol for the oath taking ceremony will be issued soon.
