ALUVA: Four cows that were tied to a shed in Keezhmad panchayat were killed by a lightning strike. The cows belonged to Keezhmad native Shemeer. It is reported that the lightning struck on Saturday night. The calves escaped because they were in another shed. Dr. Babitha of Keezhmad veterinary hospital performed a postmortem and confirmed that the cause of death was lightning.

The four cows were found dead when Shemeer arrived at the shed for milking at around 4 am yesterday. Shemeer and his family could not hear the cows crying as it was raining heavily at night. Shemeer and his family have been dairy farmers for years.
