Kerala receives 1.89 lakh doses of vaccine, 2.06 lakh people inoculated today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister Veena George said that the state received 1,89,350 doses of the Covishield vaccine on Monday. While Kochi and Kozhikode received 73,850 and 51,000 doses respectively, Thiruvananthapuram will receive 64,500 doses by tonight.

With this, 1,48,03,930 doses of vaccine were made available across the state. Of that, the state purchased a total of 13,42,540 doses of vaccine, including 12,04,960 doses of Covishield vaccine and 1,37,580 doses of Covaxin. A total of 1,34,61,390 doses of vaccine were provided by the Centre, including 1,20,21,160 doses of Covishield and 14,40,230 doses of Covaxin.

As of this evening, 2,06,439 people in the state have been vaccinated. 1,171 vaccination centers operated on Monday. A total of 1,59,06,153 people have been vaccinated across the state so far. Of these, 1,16,31,528 were given the first dose and 42,74,625 were given the second dose. The first dose was given to 34.82% of the population and 48.46% of the population over 18 years of age. The minister also stated that 12.8 percent of the population and 17.81 percent of people over the age of 18 were given the second dose of vaccine.
