THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two women have been arrested in Kannur on suspicion of spreading message of ISIS on social media. Shifa Harris and Misha Siddique are the two arrested by the NIA team from Delhi.

The two are close aides of Muzad Anwar arrested in a similar case earlier. The NIA found that they had formed a group named ‘Chronicle Foundation’ and campaigned for the terrorist group.

Ameer Rehman arrested on August 4 from Mangalore is also from the same team. The NIA team reached on the two women following the hints given by Rehman. They were arrested after six months of surveillance. The NIA revealed that a seven-member group is spreading the message of ISIS in Kerala.

The two were arrested Tuesday morning. The NIA officials arrived at the residence of these women around 6 am and after taking them into custody, they were both produced in the court under the online mode.

The two women will now be taken to Delhi shortly.

Incidentally, the NIA had visited their homes earlier this year.

The close kith and kin of the two women, however, are tight-lipped and refused to react to the media.
