Two employees of Attingal municipality suspended for throwing fish on road

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two municipal employees have been suspended for throwing fish on road from the basket of a fisherwoman in Attingal. Junior health inspector Mubarak and cleaning worker Shibu have been suspended.

The incident took place on August 1. The municipal employees threw the fish belonging to the woman named Alphonsa after accusing her of illegally trading fish on the road. Alphonsa had brought the fish, worth Rs 16000, for sale after buying them on credit. The footage of the incident had caused a great deal of discussion on social media.

Following the controversy, the corporation appointed a two-member committee to investigate. The committee had sought an explanation from the employees.
