Serosurvey to be conducted to find out immunity rate of people in Kerala; order issued

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government will conduct a serosurvey to find out the immunity rate of the people of Kerala. The survey will be conducted to find out the extent to which immunity has been achieved through Covid infection and vaccine. This is the first time that the government will be conducting a serosurvey in the state. A government order has been issued in this regard.

Coastal, urban, rural and slum areas will be studied separately. The study will be conducted on those above 18 years of age, tribal people above 18 years of age, those belonging to the coastal community, those in the corporation limits, children aged 5-17 years and pregnant women. According to an earlier serosurvey conducted by ICMR, the immunity rate in Kerala is 42.7%.
