KASARGOD: The investigation team till question BJP state president K Surendran tomorrow in the Manjeswaram election bribery case. The district crime branch has issued a notice to Surendran. The case is that Surendran threatened and gave bribe to BSP candidate K Sundara to withdraw his nomination papers.
The complaint was lodged by Left candidate V V Ramesh. The team is going to quiz Surendran three months after implicating him in the case. Sundara had earlier asserted that he was threatened and bribed to withdraw his candidatureship.
Sundara earlier said that he had demanded Rs 15 lakh and a wine parlour in Mangalore, but was given only Rs 2.5 lakh and a mobile phone of Rs 15,000. He also said that before paying him Rs 2.5 lakh, the BJP leaders kidnapped and threatened him.
