Kerala records 15,768 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, 214 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 15,768 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. Among these, 14,746 persons developed the disease through contact, including 798 cases without an identified source of infection. 124 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 100 health workers contracted the disease on Tuesday.

21,367 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,61,195 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 214 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 23,897.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Thrissur 1843, Kottayam 1632, Thiruvananthapuram 1591, Ernakulam 1545, Palakkad 1419, Kollam 1407, Malappuram 1377, Alappuzha 1250, Kozhikode 1200, Kannur 993, Pathanamthitta 715, Idukki 373, Wayanad 237, Kasaragod 186.

1,05,513 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
