Bike racing at Neyyar Dam leads to accident, youth fractures leg

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A youth sustained serious injuries during a bike racing in the capital city. The accident happened near Neyyar Dam reservoir. It happened the other day amidst complaints from locals that regular bike racing is taking place here. One of the bikes engaged in the racing collided with a bullet that was passing by. The youth identified as Unnikrishnan, a native of Vattiyoorkavu, fractured his leg in the accident. The footages show the locals thrashing the youths.

Seven youths in three bikes were engaged in the racing. Unnikrishnan is undergoing treatment at a hospital. It is alleged that the police did not take any action despite the constant complaints of the locals that bike racing was taking place regularly in the Neyyar Dam reservoir area. The locals alleged that there have been three similar accidents in the past six months.
