Man sentenced to life imprisonment for abusing and impregnating 15-year-old girl

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The accused in the case of raping a 15-year-old girl and impregnating her was sentenced to life imprisonment. Shiju (26), a native of Chengal Maryapuram, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Thiruvananthapuram Fast Track-Court. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 75,000 on the accused.

The fast-track court announced the sentence, accepting the prosecution's argument that the defendant do not deserve any mercy. The court had earlier found the accused guilty in the case. The incident related to the case took place in January 2019.
