eyewitness

KOTTAYAM: Abhishek Baiju, the accused in slashing the neck of a college student, was seen sitting in a nearby bench after committing the murder, said the eyewitnesses. The construction workers of the civil service academy built newly inside the campus of Pala St Thomas College reached the spot first. They saw Nithina lying down with injuries on her neck and saw Abhishek resting on a bench nearby. Nithina was taken to the hospital in the vehicle that came to the construction site.

‘We came running hearing the cries of the girl. When we came there was blood all over the place. There were deep cut injuries on the girl’s neck. Soon we sent her to the hospital in the vehicle that came that way,’ Biju Mathew, in charge of the electrical contract work of the building, told media.

The eye witnesses said Abhishek Baiju did not try to flee from the place after committing the act. He was sitting on a bench nearby. He entered the jeep without any fuss. There was no expression on his face. Abhishek attacked Nithina with a knife used in the college lab. They said the accused had a cut on his right hand at the time of his arrest.
