THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The court will pronounce verdict on the bail pleas of the accused in the adoption case of Anupama's baby on November 2. Anupama's father Jayachandran, mother Smitha and four family friends are the accused in the case. The argument in the plea has been completed. The accused informed the court that the baby was abandoned in child welfare panel’s Ammathottil with the knowledge of Anupama.

The accused told the court that when they sent their daughter to study in college she returned pregnant and that they never tried to kill the baby instead handed over to raise the baby safely. The accused told the court that the affidavit filed by Anupama in the court did not mention that they tried to destroy the child.

Meantime, the prosecution who opposed the anticipatory bail plea of the accused sought a detailed probe for abandoning the baby. The accused should be questioned in custody. The police in the report submitted asserted that investigation in the case for abducting the baby and forging documents are going on and that the evidence could be destroyed if the accused were granted bail now as they were highly influential.
