Kerala records 5987 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, 56 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 5987 COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Among these, 5594 persons developed the disease through contact, including 331 cases without an identified source of infection. 37 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 25 health workers contracted the disease on Thursday.

5094 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 51,804 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 56 deaths due to the virus on Thursday with the toll rising to 38,737.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Ernakulam 963, Thiruvananthapuram 863, Kozhikode 664, Kottayam 555, Thrissur 450, Malappuram 414, Kollam 377, Kannur 373, Idukki 277 Wayanad 275, Pathanamthitta 253, Alappuzha 215, Palakkad 188, Kasaragod 120.


66,165 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
