Controversy erupts over MM Mani's speech regarding Edamalakkudy

MUNNAR: CPM state secretariat member and former minister MM Mani has once again found himself in the middle of a controversy. The controversy erupted following Mani's statement that the tribals of Edamalakkudy, who voted for BJP instead of LDF in the Panchayat by-elections, were like fools who do not understand history. The former minister made the statement during the inauguration of the CPM area meeting in Munnar.

"We were the ones who made Edamalakkudy the Edamalakkudy we see today. It isn't Congress that won there. It is the other party (BJP). Fools who do not understand history. Do you know how many crores were spent to bring electricity there? Let them bring development there." Mani said.
