THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: While the state government has stated that it will go ahead with the K-Rail project, the CPI, a left-wing party, has criticized the project. Criticism was raised against the project in the CPI State Council.
According to some CPI leaders, the government should not give priority to K-Rail when people are suffering in the Covid crisis. They also pointed out that the project was harmful to the environment. Reports said that the CPM leaders believe that a state like Kerala would never be able to afford the project financially and that it would not be beneficial for the party to support the project. CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran replied that the party was in favor of the project as it was mentioned in the LDF manifesto.
