ALAPPUZHA: RSS district pracharak has been arrested in connection with the murder of SDPI leader Shan. Aneesh, a native of Malappuram, was arrested. Aneesh is the Aluva district pracharak. He was arrested for setting up a hideout at the Aluva office for RSS leaders who conspired to assassinate Shan.

This brings the total number of people arrested in the Shan murder case to 15. According to the remand report, Shan's assassination was pre-planned. The plot began after the murder of Nandu, an RSS activist in Cherthala. Secret meetings were held at the RSS office. The killer arrived in two groups and murdered Shan. According to the remand report, it was the RSS leaders who helped the killers escape to Thrissur.

Pranav and Sreeraj, both residents of Mannancherry, who showed Shan to the killers, were arrested. Now those involved in the conspiracy have to be caught.

Meanwhile, no progress has been made in the probe into the murder of BJP leader Ranjith. It is learned that an SDPI activist from Vellakinar in Alappuzha, who was directly involved in the incident, has been arrested from Bengaluru.
