Thiruvananthapuram witnesses rapid spread of Covid, reports 5863 new cases on Monday; TPR at 44.2 percent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram district is witnessing a rapid spread of Covid cases. As many as 5863 persons tested positive for the virus on Monday. 579 patients tested negative in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate (TRP) stands at 44.2 percent. At present, there are 30,149 active Covid cases in the district.

Ernakulam reported 4100 new cases on Monday.

Thiruvananthapuram 5863, Ernakulam 4100, Kozhikode 2043, Thrissur 1861, Kottayam 1476, Kollam 1264, Palakkad 1191, Kannur 1100, Malappuram 935, Pathanamthitta 872, Alappuzha 835, Idukki 605, Kasaragod 574, Wayanad 227.

69,373 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 33.17. The state confirmed 18 deaths due to the virus on Monday with the toll rising to 50,904.
