Received money as a director, dragged bishop into this to create communal hatred, Balachandra Kumar denies Dileep’s allegation

KOCHI: Director Balachandra Kumar came forward denying Dileep's allegation that he received more than Rs 10 lakh from the actor through threats. Dileep gave the money as a director, Kumar said.

Kumar said Dileep paid him the money years before the case was filed. Kumar said the actor dragged the bishop into this to create a communal hatred. Let the police investigate the affidavit, Kumar said while responding to a channel.

Dileep's allegation was in his affidavit filed in the high court. Dileep said Kumar threatened him and often took more than Rs 10 lakh from him. The actor alleged that Kumar demanded money to pay in return to the Bishop of Neyyattinkara who intervened for bail in the case.

Meantime, the interrogation of Dileep and others which started at 9 am this morning, in a case registered against him and five others for allegedly threatening officials probing the sexual assault of an actress, is still continuing. He appeared at the crime branch office in Kalamassery for the interrogation.
