PARIS: An aide to the French President said that President Emmanuel Macron believes that “the worst is yet to come” in Ukraine. Macron's response came after a 90-minute telephonic conversation with Russian President Putin on Thursday.

As per the Moscow Times, the aide added that there was nothing reassuring in what President Putin told them and he showed great determination to continue the operation. Quoting the Russian President, he said that Putin wants to seize control of the whole of Ukraine and will carry out his operation to ‘de-Nazify’ Ukraine to the end.

The aide further added that Macron requested Putin to avoid civilian casualties and allowing humanitarian access, as President Putin replied that he was in favour of that but without making any commitments.
