Efficiency test will take place soon, water bill can be paid through mobile app

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The efficiency test of the app which can know the drinking water bill by entering the self reading through the smart phone will be held in the Palayam section this week. Using the app with the meter readers, the reading will be recorded and checked to make sure that there is no difference. The Water Authority has decided to fix the discrepancies and make the app fully functional within two months. App developed by Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council

The last reading can be seen in the app when one enters the customer's consumer number. Then, when the customer records a new reading, the amount of water used and the amount to be paid will be displayed on the screen.

The Water Authority will also receive a copy of the bill. When scanning the QR code received by the customer along with the bill, the bill can be paid by going to the page of Quick Pay (https://www.epay.kwa.kerala.gov.in), the Water Authority's e-payment system. Apple will introduce bill payment system in the next phase.

Earlier it was decided to install smart meters to get the exact quantity and bill of water consumption to the consumers but at present these are installed only in industrial establishments.
