THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader P J Kurien levelled harsh criticisms against Rahul Gandhi. Kurien accused Rahul of being an unstable leader and a man who once dumped everything and went away. Someone other than Rahul should become party president. A person outside the Nehru family should become the chief, Kurien said in an interview given to a weekly.
‘Rahul is against appointing another person as party chief. Rahul's decisions were made only in consultation with the caucus. They are inexperienced. He left the post during crisis because of instability. Rahul is running away from his responsibilities as a captain. That is why the party suffered heavy setbacks in the elections,’ he said.
