Stranger offered to buy liquor for elderly man who was in for a shock later

ALAPPUZHA: An elderly man has been allegedly cheated here in Kayamkulam while waiting in line at a foreign liquor store. His complaint alleges that a person standing further up in the line took his money and promised to buy alcohol and gave him bottles filled with black tea.

The victim is an elderly man from Attingal, Thiruvananthapuram, who had come to Krishnapuram in Kayamkulam for plumbing work. According to the man's complaint, there was a long line in front of the liquor store and someone approached him saying that he could arrange the bottle.

According to the complaint, the elderly man said that he took Rs 1,200 for three bottles of liquor, only to later find out that he was cheated.
