KOLAR: A police investigation is underway against a youth, who allegedly burnt camphor on his wife’s hand for an infidelity test. The incident took place in Kolar’s Veerenahalli village in Karnataka. The youth has been identified as Ananda. The woman has suffered serious injuries in the incident.

Although the incident occurred five days ago, the woman did not lodge a police complaint in fear of her husband. However, she lodged a complaint following the intervention of Ambedkar Seva Samithi president K M Sandesh. The couple was married 14 years ago and has a son.

Ananda, who has always suspected his wife’s fidelity, had forced the woman to light a camphor on her palm. The illiterate woman immediately followed her husband’s order. As the incident came to light, Ananda fled the village. The police have launched an investigation against the accused on the basis of the woman’s complaint.
