THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Minister KN Balagopal on Monday launched the new Sunday lottery named 'Fifty Fifty'. He also did the first ticket sale. Lottery agents Mohammad Shahir, Mohammad Rafi and Thankaraj accepted the tickets. The price of the lottery is Rs 50. The first prize of the lottery is Rs 1 crore and the second prize is Rs 10 lakh. Tickets are available from Tuesday. The first draw will be on May 29.

The lottery from Monday to Saturday are Win-Win, Sthree Shakthi, Akshaya, Karunya Plus, Nirmal and Karunya. The Sunday lottery, which had been suspended due to Covid, was resumed with prize money and benefits. Instead of 25 tickets in a book, there are only 10 tickets in the new lottery. The number of prizes and agency discounts are also high.

The Minister said that many scams, including online scams, have been noticed using the Kerala Lottery. "Such misuse is taking place using the attractiveness of the Kerala Lottery. It has also been noticed that there is a tendency to sell tickets by tying the same number together. The government will take action against this. The department is thinking of imparting training on lottery handling to lottery winners", he said.

Lottery Director Abraham Renn also attended the function. He said the Vishu bumper lottery saw huge sales. So far 38 lakh tickets have been sold. 42 lakh tickets were printed. The sale will continue for another week. It is expected that 50 lakh tickets will be sold within that time.
