THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted bad weather and strong winds of 45 to 50 kilometre per hour along the Kerala-Lakshadweep coast on Thursday and Friday.

Strong winds are likely to blow at a speed of 40-50 kmph and up to 60 kmph in areas such as the Kanyakumari coast, Gulf of Mannar, west-east Arabian Sea, west-east Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Andaman sea.

On June 4, strong winds of 40 to 50 kmph are expected in the south-eastern Bay of Bengal. On account of the current situation, fishermen should refrain from trawling in the Kerala-Lakshadweep coasts and other alert areas, said district collector Dr Navjot Singh Khosa.
