Mic fees doubled;  Police increase fees for services

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala police has increased the fees for using its services, including mic licenses. The fees for the mic license have been doubled. The fees have been raised from Rs 330 to Rs 660 for 15 days. The rates for other services have been increased by 10 per cent. Private companies have to pay Rs 1,000 per adult for the background check of candidates. Police escort fees to banks and the postal department have been increased by 1.85 per cent. The Home Department, which approved DGP Anil Kant's recommendation to increase rates, has issued an order in this regard. The rates have been raised to increase revenue for the police.

New mic rate

  • Rs 1110 within the district
  • Rs 11,030 across the state
  • Festive procession- Rs 2000 within the station limits
  • Rs 4000 within the subdivision limit
  • Rs 10,000 within the district limits


Other rates

  • Police clearance certificate fee is Rs 610. Current rate- 555
  • Rs 33,100 for film shooting at a police station. Current rate- Rs 11,025
  • Police dog- Rs 6,950 per day
  • Wireless set usage- Rs 2,315.
  • DNA testing in the forensic lab- Rs 24,260. Current rate- 22,050
  • Hard Disk / Laptop checking- Rs. 12,130 Current rate- 11,025
  • Mobile, SIM card, fingerprint check- Rs 6070 Current rate- 5515
  • Permission for conferences- Rs 1000
