KOCHI: Kerala Blasters' young defender Sanjeev Stalin will play for Mumbai City FC from next season. It was the Kerala Blasters themselves that informed about this. Sanjeev, who joined Kerala Blasters last March, played for Blasters in 8 ISL matches. He was adjudged the man of the match when Blasters defeated Chennaiyin FC 3-0.
Meanwhile, the departure of Sanjeev, who won the hearts of the fans with a handful of excellent performances last season, has caused disappointment among Blasters fans. But it is learnt that Blasters have received a huge amount as a transfer fee through the transfer of Sanjeev. The management is also trying to rope in an Indian striker in the team. The Blasters are likely to use the huge amount of money received from Stalin's transfer to bring in an Indian striker to the team.
Players such as Álvaro Vázquez, Vincy Barretto, Chencho Gyeltshen, Albino Gomes and Seityasen Singh had also left the Blasters club after the last season. Blasters, who have extended the contracts of some of its key players, have brought in young Indian players like Bryce Miranda and Sourav Mandal.
