KOCHI: The Kerala High Court acquitted RSS activists, accused in the Vanchiyoor Vishnu murder case. The division bench order allowed the appeals filed by the accused questioning the sentence. 13 accused in the case were acquitted.
A group of RSS activists hacked Vishnu to death in front of the passport office in Kaithamukku in the capital city on April 1 in 2008. All the accused who faced trial were RSS workers and leaders. The Thiruvananthapuram Additional Sessions Court had found 13 people guilty. Of these, eleven accused were sentenced to double life imprisonment, twelfth accused to life imprisonment and the thirteenth accused to three years in prison.
