Student who came to board school bus dies after being hit by train

KANNUR: A student, who came in a car with her mother to board school bus, died after being hit by a train. The dead has been identified as Nanditha, a Class 11 student of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kakkad. The incident took place at 7:45 am on Saturday. Nanditha is the daughter of Kishore and Lizi.

Nanditha, who had come in the car with her mother to board the school bus, saw the railway gate closed, got out of the car and crossed the railway track. She was hit by Parasuram Express. The accident took place in front of her mother.

Although the child had crossed the track, her bag got stuck in the train, said the eye witnesses. The locals soon rushed the child to AKG Hospital and MIMS Hospital, but could not be saved. Lizi’s husband had died earlier due to illness.
