THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Adani Group has expressed their interest to start cement and green hydrogen plants in the state. Vizhinjam Ports CEO Karan Adani expressed this in the proposal put forward by Vizhinjam International Sea Port Limited (VISL) in the discussion held in the presence of the Chief Minister. The final decision will be taken after detailed study.

Such a project was put forward by VISL as Adani Group was establishing themselves into Cement and Green hydrogen industries. The cement plant can be set up in the Vizhinjam project area itself as much area is not required.

The central government has plans to promote the production of green hydrogen. The aim is to take advantage of this and establish plants in many places in the state. Adani group is currently the second cement manufacturer in the country.
