Landslide in Malappuram, Kannur and Kozhikode, districts on high alert

KOZHIKODE: After unexpected flash floods occurred in Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur, it has been warned that northern districts will receive heavy rain for the next five days. Landslides have occurred in Kozhikode's Vilangadu and Kannur's Nedumpoyil. The Vilangad bridge was completely submerged after water rushed in. The Seminary Junction was also flooded due to torrents.

A warning has been issued in the Vilangadu region due to the flash floods. Traffic restrictions have also been imposed. Many shops in this area were flooded.

Karuvarkund in Malappuram also witnessed heavy rains and flash floods. The flash floods are in Kalkund and Keralamkund areas. Olipuzha is overflowing. The heavy rain that started on Saturday morning is still continuing in Kozhikode's hilly region.
