Three, including woman, arrested for smuggling highly potent drugs

PALAKKAD: Three people, including a woman, were arrested for trying to smuggle potent drugs through the train. Ashwathy (24) native of Thrissur, Ashik (24) native of Natika in Thriprayar and Ajay (21), a native of Kaara, were arrested by Railway Protection Force and Palakkad Excise Range team.

The group got scared on seeing the inspection at the Palakkad Junction railway station and rested on the platform. Later they got caught while trying to escape the station. 20 grams of charas worth Rs.2 lakhs were seized from them. The group testified that they tried to bring the charas bought from Manali to Delhi by road and from there to Thrissur by Kerala Express.
