Covid restrictions lifted in Sabarimala; Devaswom Board decides to admit maximum number of devotees

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Travancore Devaswom Board has decided to lift Covid restrictions imposed in Sabarimala. The meeting convened by Minister K Radhakrishnan also decided to provide darshan facilities for the maximum number of devotees during this year's Sabarimala Mandala Makaravilakku season.

During the Covid period, 10,000 devotees were allowed darshan in a day. The Devaswom Board has decided to provide darshan facilities to maximum devotees from the next Mandala season. The meeting also agreed to promote pilgrimage through the virtual queue. Devaswom Board will provide extensive facilities for online booking. A final announcement regarding allowing more devotees will be made after a review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.

The meeting was attended by Ministers Veena George, K Rajan, Roshy Augustine, Antony Raju and senior officials of various departments.
