Rain returns to Kerala; IMD forecasts heavy rainfall for the coming 4 days, 3 districts issued Yellow Alert today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall in all the districts of the state till 5 October. There will be rainfall accompanied by thunder. Heavy rainfall is expected in the hilly regions of the state.

The IMD also issued a Yellow Alert to Idukki, Palakkad, and Wayanad. Isolated very heavy rainfall is forecasted in the region.

Meanwhile, the IMD added that there is no problem with fishing in the coastal areas of Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.

From 2nd to 5th October, there would be very strong winds ranging from 45 km/hour to 55 km/hour in the areas of the southwestern Bay of Bengal, the southeastern area of Bay of Bengal, the coast of Kanyakumari, Gulf of Mannar, southern Tamil Nadu coastal area, the coast of Andhra Pradesh, the central western area of Bay of Bengal. The wind speed may even reach up to 65 km/hour with bad weather.

Fishermen are advised not to go to sea during the dates that bad weather is forecasted.
