Vehicle carrying Sabarimala pilgrims overturned; 8-year-old child who was injured dies

PATHANAMTHITTA: A child who was critically injured in an accident in Laha has died. 8-year-old Manikandan is the deceased. A vehicle carrying Sabarimala pilgrims overturned in Laha today morning. The boy died while undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College.

The victims of accident were natives of West Godavari district, Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.

44 pilgrims were in the vehicle but 19 people who were sitting on the right-side seat were injured. They are undergoing treatment at Taluk Hospital and one person who was seriously injured in the accident is undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College. The child’s body will be handed over to the relatives after post-mortem. Health Minister Veena George visited the accident site.
