Special bench in Supreme Court to handle tax cases

NEW DELHI: Supreme Court Chief Justice, DY Chandrachud, said that a Special Bench will be constituted in the Supreme Court to handle cases that are directly or indirectly related to sales tax. The bench will function from next week onwards and work on Wednesday, and Thursday.

In 2015, a special bench was formed under the leadership of Justices, AK Sikri, and Rohinton Nariman to deal with cases related to tax. They gave 800 verdicts before it was dismissed.
