HM seeks report on allegation of failed students of T’puram Ayurveda College given BAMS degree

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is an allegation that students who have not passed the exam in Thiruvananthapuram Ayurveda College have got the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree. Health Minister Veena George ordered an investigation into the incident and asked to submit a report. The investigation is related to the BMS graduation ceremony held the other day. The minister has asked the director of ayurveda medical education department to submit the report.


The graduation ceremony was organized at the college under the leadership of House Surgeons Association. It has been alleged that seven students who failed in the exam took the oath wearing gowns. The college principal had ordered an inquiry into the incident and soon the minister also asked for a report. Health University V C Mohan Kunnummal and others had participated in the function. However, the explanation from the college is that the programme was not conducted by them.
