PATHANAMTHITTA: The Travancore Devaswom Board has informed that they have received Rs 222.98 crore as revenue from Sabarimala so far this year. The Devaswom Board stated that more than 29 lakh pilgrims had visited the temple. Rs 70.10 crore was received as offering. These are the figures of 39 days from the beginning of pilgrimage season. About 20 percent of the 29,08,500 pilgrims are children. The Board points out that the reason for the increase in the number of children is due to the restrictions for two years.
The Mandala puja will be held at Sabarimala tomorrow to mark the end of the 41-day pilgrimage period. The sanctum sanctorum will open at 3 am followed by abhishekam and routine puja. The Mandala puja will take place between 12.30 pm and 1 pm. The sanctum closes with the singing of ‘Harivarasanam’ at night, will be opened on 30th at 5 pm for the Mandala puja wearing ‘Thanka Anki’.
