THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The backdoor recruitment move for the post of Transplant Coordinator, the position that coordinate organ transplant surgeries in the Medical College Hospital, has been foiled. The medical college authorities canceled the direct interview to admit the aspirants. Vacancies are also reported to the Employment Exchange. Recruitment will be from those who have basic qualifications like MBBS, MA Sociology, Psychology, MSW etc. Kerala Kaumudi had reported on November 21 that backdoor recruitment is going on in the medical college.

26 applicants participated in the interview and the list was prepared giving second rank based on favouritism, but the principal and others decided not to proceed.

The move happened while the directive given by the Directorate of Medical Education for the appointment of the same post in Ernakulam Medical College in 2021 stands. The Medical College had issued a notification on September 29 for the appointment of two posts with a basic salary of Rs 29,535 per month.
